Madeline Rubin and
Abby Zemp swept the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Rider of the Week honors, announced by the league office on Tuesday.
This past week, the Hornets split their competitions at Charleston, defeating Centenary 5-3 and falling to Charleston 7-3. Rubin was tabbed as the Fences Rider of the Week while Zemp was awarded the Flat Rider of the Week honor.
Rubin produced fantastic rides in both meets, earning the top score in the event in both competitions. Against the Cougars, she scored an impressive 88 riding Jockamo to beat out her opponent by two points. Additionally, she rode to a score of 86 against the Cyclones.
Zemp was terrific in the Flat for both meets, scoring team points in both and leading the field in the event. She earned an 87 riding Danny against Centenary and an 86 riding Jockamo versus Charleston.
The NCEA squad has one more meet before heading into the ODAC tournament. Lynchburg will host Berry on Saturday, March 7 at 11 a.m.
