LYNCHBURG, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg men's volleyball team picked up a pair of home victories on Saturday inside Turner Gym, defeating Averett University in four sets before sweeping Regent University later in the evening.

Lynchburg 3, Averett 1

Lynchburg opened the day with a strong four-set victory over Averett, defeating the Cougars 3–1 (25–23, 25–17, 23–25, 25–21).

The Hornets edged Averett in a tightly contested first set before pulling away in the second behind efficient attacking and strong play at the net. Averett responded in the third set, using a late push to secure a 25–23 win and extend the match. Lynchburg answered in the fourth, regaining control offensively and closing out the match with a 25–21 victory.

Joshua Davis led the Hornets with 16 kills and three service aces, while Mason Kenna added 11 kills and nine digs. Jourdain Filimaua anchored the defense with five blocks and chipped in seven kills. Setter Will Radi guided the offense with 30 assists as Lynchburg finished the match with 45 kills and a .227 hitting percentage.

The Hornets also held advantages in assists, blocks, and digs as they secured the conference victory.

Lynchburg 3, Regent 0

Lynchburg continued its strong play later in the day, sweeping Regent in straight sets (25–15, 25–20, 25–20).

The Hornets controlled the match from the start, hitting .333 in the opening set while building an early lead that carried them to a convincing 25–15 win. Lynchburg maintained that momentum in the second set, using balanced offense and steady defense to take a 25–20 victory and a 2–0 match lead.

Regent kept the third set closer, but Lynchburg stayed in control down the stretch to complete the sweep with another 25–20 set win.

Davis again led the Hornets with 14 kills while hitting .526 and adding three service aces. Stefan Kapitanov contributed nine kills on a .500 hitting percentage, and Filimaua added eight kills while hitting .429.
