Greensboro, N.C. -- The University of Lynchburg women's tennis team picked up a hard-fought ODAC victory on the road Saturday afternoon, defeating Guilford College, 4-3, at McMichael Courts.
The match opened with doubles play, where Lynchburg claimed one of the three positions. Giovama Gaboardi and Ashley Hair secured a 6-2 victory at No. 2 doubles to account for the Hornets' point.
Lynchburg carried momentum into singles play, winning four of the six matches to secure the team victory. Giovama Gaboardi earned a dominant 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles, while Ashley Hair followed with a 6-2, 6-3 result at No. 4.
In the remaining singles matches, Megan Tinsley battled back for a three-set win at No. 5, 2-6, 6-3, 6-1. Harper Dodd clinched the match for Lynchburg at No. 6 singles, also rallying for a three-set victory, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2.
With four singles victories, Lynchburg secured the 4-3 win over Guilford in conference play.Â
Lynchburg turns around quickly for a home bout against Virginia Wesleyan tomorrow, Sunday, April 19, for their senior day match and regular season finale.Â
