Lynchburg, Va. -- University of Lynchburg baseball player
Jack Pokorak was named to the D3baseball.com National Team of the Week, announced by the media outlet on Wednesday.
Pokorak was selected as the national first baseman of the week following a spectacular 16-RBI performance last week. The senior batted an impressive .438 in four games across 16 at bats last week. He crushed three home runs and finished the week with a 1.000 slugging percentage. He notched 9 RBI in game one against Roanoke, which was the second-most in a single game in division III this season and most in a game for the Hornets since at least 2004.Â
As of April 1, Pokorak leads the country in total RBI on the season with 49 and averages the fourth-most per game at 2.13 per affair. He has the second-most total bases across the DIII landscape with 76 and has the fourth-highest home run total with 10 on the year.
Lynchburg takes on Johnson & Wales today at 1 p.m. in Matthews, N.C. at Colonel Francis R. Beatty Park.Â
