Lynchburg, Va. – The University of Lynchburg outdoor track and field teams will send 10 athletes to the Lee University Last Chance Meet in Cleveland, Tenn. on Saturday, May 9 to improve final marks ahead of the NCAA Championships.
Saturday's entries feature a trio of distance runners including Adelynn Carpenter, Josh Fretwell and Jake Sisk. along with the women's 4x100-meter relay and 4x400-meter relay teams. The Hornets' 4x400m relay program record of 3:50.24 occupies 23rd in the national standings, while the top 16 teams qualify for NCAAs.
Meet Schedule
Field events commence at 10:30 a.m. with the men's hammer throw, while track action begins at 2:30 p.m. with the women's 4x100-meter relay. Sections will run fast to slow, while the 100-meter dash is the lone event with prelims.

Weather
Temperatures will top out at 79 degrees on Saturday afternoon with partly cloudy skies in southeastern Tennessee. Showers or thunderstorms could arrive throughout the day, while wind gusts are expected to reach seven mph.
Facility
The Ray Conn Sports Complex features an eight-lane oval, with field events occurring outside the facility. Lee University's soccer and lacrosse teams share the venue with the track & field teams.
Spectacular Seven
Heading into the weekend, the Hornets currently occupy 11 national qualifying marks between seven individuals. Lamont Victoria leads all athletes with three qualifying marks, which include the high jump, 100m and 200m dash. Victoria is tied with teammate Jamarcus Brown for the top high jump seed in the nation (7' 1" or 2.16m), along with owning third in the 100m (10.25).
Chasen Hunt and Alex Jordan also own qualifying times in multiple events, while Micah Leech sits in 11th place for the men's decathlon seeding. Kacey Kelly retains the third-best seed in the women's triple jump entering the weekend (40' 2" or 12.24m), while Demetri Hinton hopes to make his first NCAAs appearance ranked 12th in the men's triple jump (48' 3¼" or 14.71m) from Friday's Mount Olive First Chance Meet.Â
