Cleveland, Tenn. — The women's 4x100-meter relay team's 47.01 season-best performance to place 20th in the Division III standings highlighted the Lynchburg outdoor track & field team's final qualifying efforts at the Lee University Last Chance Meet on Saturday.
The 4x100m relay team, which included Jennifer Koumondji, Rylee Turner, Selah Parker and Brianna Taylor, placed second in the field with its best performance of the outdoor campaign. The 47.01 finish marks the second-fastest time in program history behind the 2024 team's 46.84 mark.
Later in the event, the women's 4x400m relay team of Turner, Madelyn Boyce, Hannah Edwards and Kaitlyn Ruiz clocked 3:51.21 to place fourth. The Hornets used a four-second advantage from Ruiz on the anchor to oust fifth-place Lindsey Wilson by a second.
Lynchburg's 3:50.24 performance from earlier in the season sits 23rd in DIII, while the top 16 relay teams qualify for the NCAA Championships.
To conclude the meet, Adelynn Carpenter raced to a 17:59.55 performance in the women's 5,000-meter run. Carpenter finished third in the event at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships.
Final entries for the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be released on Friday, May 15 in a press release.
