LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College men's and women's indoor track and field teams boasted two provisional qualifiers this weekend at the Liberty University Open.
James Bell (Huddleston, VA/Staunton River) cleared 15'9" in the pole vault, provisionally qualifying for national competition in the event. Senior Jessica Gibbs (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor) also provisionally qualified for NCAAs, scoring 3,212 in the pentathlon.
Rashad Davis ran a season-best 8.66 in the 60-meter hurdles and John Michael Pavia (Forest, VA/Jefferson Forest) threw a 52'10 ¾" in the weight throw. Christina Washington (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook) recorded a time of 27.06 in the 200-meter dash.
The Hornets are scheduled to compete next weekend at the VMI Winter Relays and at East Tennessee State.
