Lynchburg, Va. – The University of Lynchburg outdoor track & field teams will send athletes to the VertKlasse Meeting at High Point University, Colonial Relays at the College of William & Mary and Stanford Invitational hosted by Stanford University from Thursday, April 2 through Saturday, April 4 in the team's third weekend of the regular season.
With just three meet weekends until the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships, the teams will aim to post conference-qualifying marks and improve national standing in multiple events.Â
Distance athletes will primarily compete at the Colonial Relays, while the remainder of the team will travel to the VertKlasse Meeting. On Friday, Chasen Hunt will compete in the men's 5,000-meter run at Stanford.
VertKlasse Meeting (High Point, N.C., April 2-3)
High Point's Vert Stadium features a nine-lane track with purple Beynon surface, and the facility can accommodate 3,000 spectators.
Field events begin Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. with the men's open hammer throw and men's high jump. Collegiate track events will commence with the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase at 5:00 p.m.
On Friday, all events will begin at 9:00 a.m.
Throughout the VertKlasse Meeting, temperatures in High Point, N.C. will top out in the low 80s with low temperatures in the 60s.
Colonial Relays (Williamsburg, Va., April 2-4)
The Colonial Relays will kick off with the women's unseeded 5,000-meter run at 9:10 a.m. on Friday, along with the women's hammer throw for field events at 10:00 a.m. Action resumes on Saturday with the women's unseeded 10,000-meter run, men's discus and women's shot put at 10:00 a.m.
At William & Mary, Walter J. Zable Stadium can house over 12,500 spectators and features an eight-lane track.
In Williamsburg, Va., high temperatures are expected to reach 84 degrees with lows in the mid-60s during the two-day event.
Stanford Invitational (Stanford, Calif., April 3-4)
Chasen Hunt will take the track for the men's outdoor 5,000-meter run for the first time since the 2025 NCAA Championships. While Hunt secured the title in May, an earlier performance of 13:41.96 at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif. recorded a new DIII outdoor record.
Stanford University's Cobb Track and Angell Field hosts over 2,100 spectators and features an eight-lane oval.
On the West Coast, temperatures will rise to 69 degrees on Friday with a projected low of 46 for the Stanford Invitational.
