Hornets Host Dr. Toms Invitational
LYNCHBURG, VA – Lynchburg College hosted the Dr. Jack Toms Outdoor Track & Field Invitational Saturday and had numerous good performances throughout the day.
LaCear Hubbard ran a 12.73 in the women's 100-meter dash to win the event, featuring numerous Division II schools. Mel McFayden won the 400-meter hurdles in 1:06.07 and Jennie Pernisi won the steeplechase in 12:24.58. Ashley Allen narrowing missed qualifying provisionally for national competition in the hammer with a heave of 154'11" and Caitlin Walton won the pole vault, clearing 10'06".
Rachad Davis finished the men's 110-meter hurdles in 15.63 and the 400-meter hurdles in 55.76. Shawn Minor leaped 6'6 ¾" in the high jump and John Michael Pavia threw distances of 140'05" in the discus and 163'10" in the hammer.
Lynchburg is scheduled to compete at Richmond and Washington & Lee next weekend.
