Lynchburg Track & Field Competes at Liberty

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College men and women's track & field teams competed at Liberty University this weekend Liberty Collegiate Invitational.

Freshman pole-vaulter Caitlin Walton (Richmond, VA/Mills E. Godwin) was tied at second place at the end of Friday at 10'4".  Senior Ashley Allen (Richmond, VA/Hermitage) placed ninth in the hammer throw with a heave of 153'3". Senior Krystal Landes (Staunton, VA/Wilson) took second in the javelin totaling 124'7". Fellow senior Jessica Gibbs (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor) placed tenth in the heptathlon with 2386 total points.

On the men's side, senior John Michael Pavia (Forest, VA/Jefferson Forest) finished sixth with a toss of 171'0" in the hammer throw.

James Bell (Huddleston, VA/Staunton River) finished sixth in the heptathlon with 3243 total points.
