Lynchburg Field Hockey Defeats Lebanon Valley 4-1
ANNVILLE, PA – Fueled by three second half goals, the Lynchburg College field hockey team defeated Lebanon Valley College 4-1 on Saturday in non-conference action.
Sophomore Kelli Williams scored twice and added an assist, all in the second half for Lynchburg.
Freshman Katie Kline scored the first goal of the game at 31:12 of the first half with an assist from senior Kristina Morris.
Lebanon Valley answered at 41:53 of the second half off a goal from Cate Cusack to tie the game at one. Morris would then put Lynchburg ahead less than two minutes later off a pass from Williams for the go-ahead goal. With a 2-1 advantage, Williams scored twice within five minutes (52:56, 57:11) to put LC up for good with a 4-1 lead.
Senior Tiffany Frye made two saves in the win for Lynchburg. Goalie Christine Poletti made 11 saves for LVC. The Hornets had a total of 26 shots and 12 penalty corners in the victory.
Lynchburg will take on Messiah College next on Tuesday night at 7 pm in Shippensburg, PA.
