LC Women's Tennis Wins 6-3 Over Sweet Briar

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College women's tennis team faced off against Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opponent Sweet Briar College at home on Tuesday and won 6-3.

Freshman Melissa Drinkard teamed up with sophomore Betsy Stipa and won 8-5 at #1 doubles, while freshman Madison Dixon and sophomore Hailey Bettencourt won 8-3 at #3 doubles. Sophomore Kelsey Bergen captured a 6-3, 6-3 win at #1 singles and Drinkard took #2 singles by a score of 6-2, 6-3.  Dixon competed in the #5 singles and won 6-3, 6-4, while Bettencourt was successful at #6 singles, winning 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.

The Hornet women (2-2) will be back in action on Friday, March 2 when they will travel to face Hollins at 3 p.m. in an ODAC matchup.
