Hollins Tennis Defeats LC Women 6-0

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Hollins University women's tennis team defeated Lynchburg College 6-0 Saturday afternoon in the Hornets' Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opener.

HU swept all three doubles matches and three of the singles contests. Three of the other singles matches were not finished as the outcome was already determined.

Junior Kelsey Bergen trailed just 5-4 at #6 singles before her match was called. Freshman Alise Shurly won three games in the first set of her match at #5 before her match was stopped early in the second set.

The Hornets (1-1/0-1) are scheduled to host Greensboro College Tuesday in men's and women's matches at 1 p.m.
