LC Women Lose to Sweet Briar 7-2

SWEET BRIAR, VA – The Lynchburg College women's tennis team traveled to face Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opponent Sweet Briar College on Friday and lost 7-2.

Melissa Drinkard and Betsy Stipa teamed up at #1 doubles and were able to capture an 8-5 win. Drinkard also competed at #1 singles, battling to obtain a 6-0, 4-6, 10-3 win over Sweet Briar's Sarah Manter. Stipa also played at #2 singles, taking four games in the first set, and three in the second. Madison Dixon won three games at #3 singles, while Ari Peiken notched three of her own at #4 singles.

The Hornet women (1-8/0-8 ODAC) take on Guilford College at home on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. in an ODAC matchup.
