Sweet Briar Defeats LC Women's Tennis 7-2

SWEET BRIAR, VA - The Sweet Briar College women's tennis team defeated Lynchburg College 7-2 Tuesday in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match.

The Vixens took five of the six singles matches and two of the three doubles contests. Hornet freshman Carter Vaughn captured her match at #3 singles 6-1, 6-1, and the #3 doubles duo of Kelsey Krisik and Hailey Bettencourt earned an 8-5 victory. Bettencourt dropped her match at #6 singles, but not before extending her Sweet Briar adversary to three sets.

Today's contest  began a busy stretch of seven matches in 12 days for the Hornets. Lynchburg (2-5/1-4 ODAC) travels to Randolph-Macon College Thursday for another ODAC clash at 3 p.m.
