Women's Tennis Takes Two Matches from Bridgewater College

BRIDGEWATER, VA – The Lynchburg College women's tennis team captured two games on Saturday at Bridgewater College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play, ultimately falling 7-2.

The two game wins match the most by the Hornets this season and are the most against an ODAC school this year as LC continues to work deep into games.

"Even though we lost today, we are still growing as a team and as competitors," head coach Josef Manilla commented.

The Hornets won No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles by default but saw some firepower from Kelsey Dowling at No. 5 singles. Dowling faced Haley Lloyd and worked the Eagle as much as she could, dropping the singles 6-4, 7-5. The match was the closest of the season for Dowling.

"It was a hard loss but I can feel myself improving as a player," Dowling said.

The Hornets (0-4/0-2) travel to Sweet Briar College (3-6/0-2) for a match Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
