Senior Rule the Day Against Guilford
LYNCHBURG, VA – It was Senior Day for the Lynchburg College women's tennis team and seniors Katie Kline and Megan Tillou made it a special one with wins over Guilford College in a 7-2 Quaker victory in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action.
The duo of field hockey turned tennis players captured No. 3 doubles over Luci Gordon and Chandler MacDonald by a score of 8-1. The win was the most decisive of the season for the Hornets and even more impressive coming from two new tennis players.
Kline was equally impressive in singles play, facing MacDonald once again at No. 6 singles. The Hornet senior took down the Quaker 6-4, 6-1.
Lynchburg's other two seniors, Melissa Drinkard and Catherine So, played respectable singles match, holding their own against the Quakers. Drinkard collected four games at No. 1 singles while So captured five, four in the second set alone.
Lynchburg (0-6/0-4) travels to Emory & Henry College for a 12:30 p.m. ODAC match on Sunday.
