Drinkard Rallies for Victory at No. 1 Singles

WINCHESTER, VA – Senior Melissa Drinkard rallied from one set down to capture a victory at No. 1 singles as the Lynchburg College women's tennis team fell 8-1 to Shenandoah University in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play Saturday.

Drinkard, who dropped the first set 6-2 to Molly Barb, fought back for a 6-4 victory in set number two and cruised to a 6-1 third-set win.

Kelsey Dowling and Catherine So made the match at No. 1 doubles interesting, taking four games from the duo of Shannon Allin and Barb.

Lynchburg (0-10/0-7 ODAC) will take part in a rare doubleheader on Thursday afternoon, facing Hollins University at 4:30 p.m. before facing Roanoke College at 7:30 p.m. in a match that will also be played at Hollins.
