Women's Tennis Takes to Clay against Roanoke
ROANOKE, VA - The Lynchburg College women's tennis team competed on clay courts in an official match for the first time this season, falling to Roanoke College 5-0 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action Tuesday night.
The match, due to weather, was moved from an original doubleheader at Hollins University to an individual match at the Roanoke Country Club.
Melissa Drinkard held tough against her opponent at No. 1 singles, falling 6-1, 6-2. Kelsey Dowling also won two games in the first set at the No. 3 position.
The match was played to decision as Roanoke won the top five singles positions. Katie Kline was locked in a tight 5-3 battle at No. 6 singles when action was halted.
Lynchburg (0-11/0-8 ODAC) travels to Randolph-Macon College for an ODAC matchup Thursday at 2 p.m.
