Hornets Compete in Several Key Matches with the WildCats
LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College women's tennis competed for points in several big spots but ultimately fell 9-0 to Randolph College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action Friday afternoon.
The day started with a tough 8-6 doubles loss by Katie Kline and Megan Tillou, although the Hornets were in the match throughout. Tillou followed up the doubles performance with a solid showing in singles, winning four games in each set. The eight games won was the most in her young Lynchburg tennis career.
Melissa Drinkard also had one of the longer matches of the day, fighting point for point at the No. 1 spot, dropping a tough 6-2, 6-4 match. Catherine So also rounded into form at the No. 2 spot, winning four games on the afternoon.
Lynchburg travels to Hollins University for a rescheduled match Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. That ODAC contest will conclude 2015 play for the Hornets.
