LC Women's #3 Doubles Team Wins at SVU

BUENA VISTA, VA - The Lynchburg College women's tennis team won the match at #3 doubles but it wasn't enough as Southern Virginia University defeated LC 8-1 Thursday in non-conference action.

The Hornet tandem at #3 doubles of seniors Katie Kline and Megan Tillou earned a hard-fought 9-8 (9) victory over SVU's Ashley Adamson and Heidi Lee.

Senior Melissa Drinkard captured four games at #1 singles, while Kelsey Dowling took three at #3. Tillou won four games at #6 singles in the second set before falling 6-1, 6-4.

The Hornets (0-9) travel to Shenandoah University Saturday at 2 p.m. for an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match-up.
