LC Women's Tennis Moves to 5-4 in ODAC Play with win at Va. Wesleyan
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – The Lynchburg College women's tennis team moved its Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) record over the .500 mark Wednesday with a 6-3 win at Virginia Wesleyan College. With one match to play, the Hornets can finish no worse than fifth in the 11-team conference standings.
The Hornet #2 and #3 doubles teams of Erika Hadland and Kelsey Dowling and Valeria Erostegui and Lilli Altenburg each posted 8-1 victories to open an early lead for Lynchburg.
Hadland was a double winner on the day, posting a 6-4, 6-0 victory at #2 singles. LC swept the 4-6 singles flights with wins from Altenburg, Dowling and Jerica Simmons, losing just five games combined in the six sets.
The Hornets (11-8 overall) final regular-season match is scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m. at Randolph College.
