Hornet Women's tennis falls in ODAC Tourney to E&H
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – The Lynchburg College women's tennis team fell 5-0 to Emory & Henry College Saturday in the quarterfinals of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament. Due to wet and rainy conditions, the match was played indoors at the Boars Head Sports Club.
The Hornet #2 and #3 doubles teams of D'Andria Alston-Thomas and Valeria Erostegui and Jerica Simmons and Lilli Altenburg each captured four games.
The #2, #4, #5 and #6 singles matches were all left unfinished as the team winner was already determined. Altenburg had a 6-1, 4-1 lead at #4 when the contest was stopped. Kelsey Dowling was ahead 5-3 at #5 and Simmons had a 6-3, 1-1 advantage at #6.
The Hornets finish a historic year, tying the school record for most wins in a season (12-9).
