Randolph-Macon takes down women's tennis in key ODAC match

Ashland, Va. -- The Lynchburg College women's tennis team wrapped up the regular season with a 6-3 Old Dominion Athletic Conference loss at Randolph-Macon on Friday afternoon.

The Hornets end the regular season with a 12-6 record overall, 8-3 in conference play. LC is continuing one of the finest seasons in program history.

Lynchburg found itself behind the 8-ball after doubles play, dropping all three matches to start the dual.

The Hornets weren't able to recover from the deficit, but LC did get wins from sophomore Christina Harris (Falls Church, Va.) at No. 1 singles (6-0, 6-2), junior Lilli Altenburg (Lexington, Va.) at No. 3 singles (6-1, 6-3), and junior Reagan Coon (Churchville, Va.) at No. 6 singles (6-2, 6-3).

Lynchburg will learn its path to an ODAC championship in the coming days when the league announces its tournament field. The Hornets have clinched a home match in the league quarterfinals on Tuesday, May 1.
