Lynchburg, Va. -- University of Lynchburg's women's tennis team won its sixth-straight match Wednesday afternoon, a 9-0 win over Hollins in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play.
The victory cinched the No. 2 seed for the Hornets (15-2, 10-1 ODAC) in the upcoming conference tournament and extended Lynchburg's single-season wins record.
Lynchburg didn't drop a game in doubles play, sweeping through the partners portion of the match.
The Hornets kept the momentum going in singles play as seniors Reagan Coon (Churchville, Va.) and Lilli Altenburg (Lexington, Va.) won 6-0, 6-0 at Nos. 5 and 6.
Altenburg's victory pushed her into sole possession of third place on Lynchburg's all-time singles wins list with 42.
Lynchburg will close out the regular season Friday, April 26 with a home ODAC match against Virginia Wesleyan. The Hornets will celebrate Senior Day prior to the 3:30 p.m. match.
