Lynchburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg women's tennis team rolled to a 7-2 Old Dominion Athletic Conference victory Tuesday at crosstown rival Randolph.
The Hornets took a 2-1 lead after doubles play as the No. 3 team of senior Reagan Coon (Churchville, Va.) and freshman Alissa Anderson (Norfolk, Va.) won easily, 8-2, and senior Sarah Wyly (Leesburg, Va.) and sophomore Ellen Druebbisch (Jamestown, N.C.) won a thriller at No. 2, 8-6.
Lynchburg took that momentum into singles play. Anderson notched the first point at the No. 3 flight, 6-3, 6-2, before junior Christina Harris (Falls Church, Va.) won easily, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 1.
Druebbisch clinched the match at No. 4 with a 6-4, 6-3 record.
Sophomore Emily Hoang (Sterling, Va.) and senior Lilli Altenburg (Lexington, Va.) claimed three-set victories to make the match a rout.
The Hornets (10-2, 5-1 ODAC) will be back in action Friday, April 12 for another ODAC match at Sweet Briar at 3:30 p.m.
