Raleigh, N.C. -- University of Lynchburg graduate student Tharon Suggs stacked up 28 points in a 92-60 win over William Peace Wednesday night. Playing in his hometown of Raleigh, N.C., Suggs tallied a season high in points for the second-straight game and recorded a double-double with 11 rebounds.

Neither team had anything going until the second minute of play when the Pacers got on the board first. However, Suggs and the Hornets responded quickly, tacking on seven-straight points. 

The Hornets did not slow down. Lynchburg outscored William Peace 29-10 over the next 6:56. During the run, the reigning Old Dominion Athletic Conference player of the week got red hot. Suggs scored 19 points in 5:33 on 5-5 shooting from downtown. 

Jordan Parham also got hot beyond the arc, going 2-2 from deep. He contributed two steals in the first as well. The sophomore finished with 10 points on the evening. 

The Hornets shot 51.5% (17-33) from the floor as a team in the opening period and went into the locker room leading 46-34. 

Right out of halftime, Suggs knocked down a jumper. He sank two more shots in the second half to reach 28 points. 

Midway through the final half, Dow Dunton extended Lynchburg's lead to 22 with a jumper. The senior, making his first start of the season, contributed 12 points on 4-6 (66.7%) shooting from the floor. 

Landon Sutton converted a conventional 3-point play with 4:17 remaining, giving Lynchburg an 83-55 lead. A minute later, Sutton assisted on a Kavon James layup then sank a 3-pointer, pushing Lynchburg to 90 points for the second time this season. 

Jalen Hargrove made a layup in the closing minute of action, sealing the deal on Lynchburg's 92-60 win and seventh victory of the year. Lynchburg's 7-2 record signals the program's best start to a campaign since 2018-19. 

The Hornets shot better than 50% from downtown and surpassed 90 points in a game  for the second time this season.

While Suggs finished as the leading scorer for the second-straight game, T.C. Thacker, Dunton, and Parham scored in double-figures as well. Thacker tallied 15 points and is averaging 15.1 points per game this season. 

Lynchburg (7-2, 2-0 ODAC) earns two weeks of rest before heading to Wooster, Ohio for the E. M. "Mose" Hole / Wooster Kiwanis Classic. The Hornets take on Muskingum on Wednesday, Dec. 29 at 5:30 p.m.
