Lynchburg, Va. -- University of Lynchburg's women's tennis team opened Old Dominion Athletic Conference with a bang Friday, topping crosstown rival Randolph by a 9-0 score.
The Hornets (2-0, 1-0 ODAC) cruised through doubles, spurred by 8-0 sweeps at No. 2 by Elizabeth Teefey and Grace Teefey and at No. 3 by Emma Flowers and Emma Pinola.
The top-flight doubles team of Alissa Anderson and Caroline Guill won by an 8-2 tally.
Lynchburg kept the momentum through singles play, winning every set of the match. Anderson and Lauren Pascadlo earned 6-0, 6-0 victories at the top two flights, and Flowers also did not drop a game in her victory at No. 6.
Alexa Hardesty, Grace Teefey, and Pinola also won in singles.
Lynchburg's women will continue ODAC play Saturday with a trip to Ferrum for a 1 p.m. first serve.
