Lynchburg, Va. -- University of Lynchburg's women's tennis team won every set Saturday on its way to a 9-0 sweep of Old Dominion Athletic Conference foe Shenandoah at the Crosswhite Athletic Club.
The Hornets jumped ahead 3-0 after doubles play on the back of 8-1 wins by Caroline Guill and Christina Harris at No. 1 and Lauren Pascadlo and Alissa Anderson at No. 2. Third-flight doubles team Grace Teefey and Alexa Hardesty also won handily, 8-2.
Lynchburg (9-1, 6-0 ODAC) carried that success into singles play, which Anderson highlighted with a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at No. 2. Pascadlo and Guill earned 6-0, 6-1 victories at Nos. 3 and 4, respectively, and Harris triumphed at the top flight, 6-3, 6-2.
Emma Pinola (8-5) and Emma Flowers (8-4) polished off the sweep at the fifth and sixth flights.
The Hornets will look to stay perfect in conference action Sunday at home against Guilford. The program will celebrate Senior Day prior to the noon match.
