Bridgewater, Va. -- University of Lynchburg's women's tennis team polished off a 9-0 road sweep of Bridgewater Monday afternoon to remain unbeaten in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play.
Graduate student Christina Harris led the charge for the Hornets from the No. 1 spot in the lineup, pairing with senior Caroline Guill for an 8-2 win in doubles play and cruising to a 6-0, 6-0 triumph in singles.
Lynchburg swept doubles play as the No. 2 duo of junior Alissa Anderson and sophomore Lauren Pascadlo won, 8-5, and third-flight pair sophomores Alexa Hardesty and Grace Teefey earned an 8-4 victory.
In singles play, Teefey won 6-2, 6-0 at the second flight, Anderson claimed a 6-0, 6-3 victory at No. 3, Pascadlo won 6-2, 5-7, 1-0 (7) at No. 4, senior Ellen Druebbisch triumphed 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5, and Guill was victorious, 6-1, 6-2, at the sixth flight.
The sweep was Lynchburg's seventh clean sheet of the 2021 season and the Hornets' fifth-straight win.
Lynchburg (12-1, 8-0 ODAC) will look to extend that win streak Saturday with another key ODAC match at Randolph-Macon.
