Lynchburg, Va. -- University of Lynchburg's women's tennis team rolled into the Old Dominion Athletic Conference semifinals with a 5-0 sweep of Randolph-Macon Saturday at home in the quarterfinal round.
Lynchburg cruised through doubles play with blowout wins. Graduate student Christina Harris and senior Caroline Guill teamed up to win 8-1 at No. 1, junior Alissa Anderson and sophomore Lauren Pascadlo won 8-0 at the second flight, and No. 3 team Elizabeth Teefey and Grace Teefey won 8-2.
Harris and Elizabeth Teefey then quickly clinched for the Hornets, winning 6-0, 6-0 at the top two spots in singles play.
The second-seeded Hornets will play host to No. 3 seed Sweet Briar Wednesday in the semifinals at a time to be determined.
This season marks the third consecutive time Lynchburg (14-2) has reached the ODAC tournament semifinals. The Hornets are currently ranked No. 15 in the Atlantic South regional rankings.
