Salem, Va. -- University of Lynchburg women's tennis took down Roanoke 8-1 Sunday afternoon.
The Hornets jumped ahead with two wins during doubles action. Elizabeth Teefey and Grace Teefey cleaned up at the second-doubles flight with an 8-0 win. Alexa Hardesty and Emma Pinola won 8-1 at No. 3.
The Hornets only dropped five games during singles play. Elizabeth Teefey and Anderson set the pace with 6-0, 6-0 sweeps at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively. At the fourth flight, Hardesty won 6-0, 6-1, and Pinola also won 12 of 13 games at No. 5.
Jordan Ottaviano won her first-career match at the sixth flight, 6-0, 6-2.
Christina Harris captured her 89th-career victory with a win at No. 1. She swiftly took down her opponent with a 6-0, 6-1 win.
The Hornets have won four-straight against the Maroons.
Lynchburg (3-0, 1-0 ODAC) hits the road on Wednesday, Mar. 2 for a matchup with Hollins at 2 p.m.
