Hilton Head Island, S.C. -- University of Lynchburg's women's tennis team opened up its stay at Spring Tennis Fest Sunday morning with a 6-3 victory over Concordia Wisconsin at Hilton Head High School.
The Hornets leapt out to a 2-1 lead after doubles play, as Christina Harris and Lauren Pascadlo won 8-1 at No. 1 and Alissa Anderson and Alexa Hardesty earned a third-flight win, 8-3.
Harris kicked off singles play with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at the top flight, and Elizabeth Teefey, Anderson, and Hardesty also won their singles matches in straight sets. Teefey earned a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 3, and Anderson was victorious 6-4, 6-1 at No. 4. At the fifth flight, Hardesty earned a tight victory, 6-0, 7-6 (4).
It's the sixth-straight win for the Hornets, and Lynchburg's regular-season win streak extended to seven matches dating back to April 23, 2021. The Hornets will put that streak on the line Monday morning at 9:30 against Millikin at the Van der Meer Tennis Center on Hilton Head Island.
