Hilton Head Island, S.C. -- Make it eight straight wins for University of Lynchburg women's tennis and 10 straight wins for Elizabeth Teefey.
The junior from Amelia, Va. remained undefeated on the season in singles play and helped her team stay perfect with a 6-3 win over Carroll (Wis.) on Tuesday. Teefey bested her opponent 6-0, 6-0 at the third-singles flight.
Christina Harris and Alissa Anderson also won in singles play at No. 1 and No. 4, respectively. Anderson also maintained an undefeated singles record on the season.
The Pioneers won the other three singles matches.
However, in doubles action, the Hornets swept Carroll. Harris and Lauren Pascadlo won 8-5 at the first-doubles flight, and Elizabeth Teefey and Grace Teefey won 8-5 at the second-doubles flight. Alissa Anderson and Alexa Hardesty wrapped up the doubles sweep with an 8-2 win at No. 3.
The Hornets (8-0, 3-0 ODAC) take on Greenville University at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Mar. 17. Lynchburg's match with St. Mary's (Md.) scheduled for Friday, Mar. 18 has been canceled.
