Lynchburg, Va. -- University of Lynchburg women's tennis dropped its first match of the season Tuesday afternoon.
The Hornets came into their match against Sweet Briar with a 9-0 record riding their best start to a season in program history.
Lynchburg only grabbed one point during doubles action. Elizabeth Teefey and Grace Teefey won their No. 2 doubles match in a tiebreak. The juniors are 12-3 overall as a doubles pairing this season.
In singles play, Christina Harris earned her 95th-career singles win. The graduate student dropped the first set but came back to win the next two sets 7-5, 6-3.
Elizabeth Teefey stayed perfect in dual-match singles action with a win at No. 3 singles.
Alexa Hardesty won the first set at No. 5 but lost the next two. Lauren Pascadlo, Alissa Anderson, and Grace Teefey lost out at No. 2, No. 4, and No. 6 singles, respectively.
Sweet Briar claimed a 6-3 victory giving the Hornets their first loss in 321 days.
The Hornets (9-1, 3-1 ODAC) look to start a new win streak on Friday, Mar. 25 at Mary Baldwin.
