Winchester, Va. -- University of Lynchburg women's tennis took down Shenandoah Saturday afternoon and moved to 5-0 in the year.
Grace Teefey earned a win at the second-doubles flight with Elizabeth Teefey, 8-5. The Teefeys are undefeated in doubles action this year. Alissa Anderson and Alexa Hardesty also grabbed a win at No. 3 doubles as the Hornets took a 2-1 lead into singles play.
Lynchburg needed three wins in singles play to claim the victory. Elizabeth Teefey have the Hornets one at the third-singles flight with a 6-0, 6-1 win. Anderson also only dropped one game and won at No. 4. Hardesty edged out her opponent 6-4, 6-1 at No. 5, and the Hornets improved upon their perfect record on the season with a 5-4 win.
Lynchburg starts the season 5-0 for the second season in a row.
The Hornets (5-0, 3-0) look to protect their undefeated record in Hilton Head, S.C. They play their first of four matches in Hilton Head on Sunday, Mar. 13 against Concordia-Wisconsin at 8:30 a.m.
