Greensboro, N.C. -- University of Lynchburg women's tennis swept its opponent for the third time this season. The Hornets beat Guilford 9-0 Saturday afternoon.
Lynchburg swiftly jumped out to a 3-0 lead in doubles play after only dropping one game across three courts. Christina Harris teamed up with Lauren Pascadlo at No. 1, Elizabeth Teefey and Grace Teefey won 8-1 at No. 2, and Alissa Anderson and Alexa Hardesty won at No. 3.
Harris continued the momentum in singles action. She bested her No. 1 opponent 6-0, 6-0 and only lost four points. Pascadlo grabbed her second win of the season at the second-singles flight.
Elizabeth Teefey, the reigning Old Dominion Athletic Conference player of the week, won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3.
Alissa Anderson claimed her 12th singles win of the season with a sweep at the fourth flight. Emma Pinola beat her No. 5 opponent 6-0, 6-1, and Mimi Oliver won at the sixth-singles flight. Oliver is 3-3 on the season and undefeated in conference play.
The Hornets (12-1, 4-1 ODAC) take on Southern Virginia Thursday, Apr. 7 on the road at 3 p.m.
