Cary, N.C. -- The University of Lynchburg men's and women's swimming teams are both in third place after Day 1 at the Pacer Invite.
The midseason meet hosted by William Peace University mimics a championship-style meet with two sessions each day.
The Hornets posted 93 season-best swims and nine lifetime-bests.
Graduate transfer Molly Spano impressed as she set the school record in the 500 freestyle and placed third in the 400-yard individual medley in 4:38.24.
Freshman Andrew Fiore also placed third in the 400 IM knocking 10 seconds off his seed time and swimming a 4:17.35.
Miles West went 51.52 in the 100-yard fly.
Lynchburg's women's team also produced two relays in the top-3. Lynchburg's 200-yard medley relay and 200-yard freestyle relay both placed third. Sophia Schorr, Savvy Borroughs, Madelyn Forman, and Claire Galloway teamed up to finish with a 1:38.84.
