Lynchburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg women's swimming team defeated Sweet Briar 218-25 in a double-dual meet Saturday afternoon.
The women lost to Milligan 153-108, an NAIA school from Tennessee, and the men lost to the Buffaloes 193-69.
Powering Lynchburg's win over Sweet Briar were three individual-event victories from Claire Galloway, Savy Borroughs, and freshman Abigail Schneider.Â
Galloway has the 29th-fastest 50-yard breaststroke time in Division III at 31.31 from last week's meet in Lexington, Va., and she won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:07.98. Borroughs won the 50-yard freestyle with a 24.64, and Schneider won the 200-yard individual medley touching the wall in 2:18.44
Colton Schnars, the reigning Old Dominion Athletic Conference swimmer of the year, won the 100-yard backstroke in 52.03.Â
Lynchburg wraps up its schedule for the fall semester on Friday, Nov. 17 and Saturday, Nov. 18 at the Pacer Invite in Cary, N.C., a two-day event that resembles a championship meet.Â
