Box Score Roanoke, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg women's tennis team defeated Hollins in a weather-shortened match Sunday afternoon.
With an impending storm, the two conference foes played to clinch starting with singles, and the Hornets won 5-1.
Lara Karrass won for the first time at the second flight 6-1, 6-0. Alexa Hardesty won handily at No. 3. After winning the first set 6-2 at the fourth flight, Grace Teefey swept her opponent in the second.
Jordan Ottaviano earned her seventh singles match of the season and third at the fifth flight.
Reese McAtee earned her first-career singles victory at No. 6 with scores of 6-3, 6-0.
Lynchburg (10-5, 5-3 ODAC) will play Ferrum on Tuesday, April 18 at 4 p.m.
