Lynchburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg women's tennis team downed Roanoke at home Wednesday afternoon. 

The Hornets beat the Maroons 8-1 for their third-straight win. 

Lynchburg kicked off the lopsided victory with a sweep in doubles action. 

Elizabeth Teefey and Grace Teefey won their seventh match at the top-doubles flight. Lara Karrass and Alexa Hardesty won 8-4 at No. 2. The duo is 7-1 on the season. Reese McAtee and Ashley Hair won 8-3 at the third flight. 

Elizabeth Teefey won her eighth singles match at No. 1 as Lynchburg went 5-1 in singles action. Karrass won handily at No. 3. Hardesty battled to a 7-5 victory in the first set at the fourth flight but coasted to a 6-0 win in the second. 

Grace Teefey on 8-2 at No. 5, and Jordan Ottaviano won 6-2, 6-3 at the sixth flight. The junior is 6-4 on the season with five wins at No. 6 and one win at No. 5. 

Lynchburg (8-5, 4-3 ODAC) is on the road for the next three matches beginning Wednesday, April 12 at Bridgewater.
