Ferrum, Va. -- The Lynchburg Hornets had their four-game win streak snapped on the road against the Ferrum Panthers, losing 93-61.
Mike Gray led Lynchburg in scoring as the only Hornet with double figures, finishing with 10 points. Lynchburg struggled to shoot the ball efficiently, scoring 34% from the floor and 19% from three.
As for Ferrum, the Panthers shot the lights out, shooting 54% from the field and 51.5% from beyond the arc. Five Panthers finished the game with double-digit points. While limiting good, clean looks for the Hornets all night, the stout perimeter defense impacted Lynchburg's offensive rhythm as well. Ferrum collected 12 steals during the contest, a large part of Lynchburg's season-high 20 turnovers.
The turnovers for Lynchburg allowed Ferrum to capitalize, scoring 28 points off turnovers compared to Lynchburg's six. Additionally, it allowed the Panthers to hold an advantage in transition, outscoring the Hornets 14-3 in fast break points.
Lynchburg will have a brief week-long hiatus before retaking the floor at home on Wednesday, Dec. 18, against Nazareth in the Wayne Profit Classic.
