Williamsburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg men's golf team maintained its lead at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference championship Monday shooting +5 as a team.
The Hornets lead Hampden Sydney by five strokes after the Tigers moved up four spots, and Guilford fell to fourth.
Andrew Watson and Alan Van Asch both went -1 on the day, moving Watson up 11 spots into a tie for third and Van Asch up 13 spots into a tie for fifth. Watson made four birdies on the day, and Van Asch made six.
Simon Burgos shot a 77 and is tied for 13th, Harrison Smith shot a 79 and is in a tie for 18th, and Eddie Coffren V bounced back from his 82 on Sunday and shot +2 to move up into a tie for 30th.
Lynchburg will tee of in the final grouping with Washington and Lee and Hampden-Sydney on Tuesday, April 30 beginning with Coffren V at 10:30 a.m. Watson is in the final pairing of the morning going off with Jack Barnes from Hampden-Sydney and Cannon Crane from Washington and Lee at 11:10 a.m. Crane is tied for first individually with James Alden from Guilford.
Lynchburg is seeking the first ODAC title in program history since 1989. The Hornets have won six conference titles overall including five in the '80s.
