JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. — The University of Lynchburg men's golf team tied for 12th overall at the Jekyll Island Collegiate, finishing with a 54-hole team score of 4-over par (-1, +5, E) at Pine Lakes.
Alan Van Asch paced the Hornets with the top individual finish, tying for 11th at 7-under for the tournament. Van Asch was steady from start to finish, opening with rounds of 69 and 69 before closing with a 71. His consistent play and ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities kept him near the top of the leaderboard throughout the event.
Dylan Olinger added a strong performance, finishing at 2-under overall. After opening with a 69, Olinger responded to a second-round 74 with a composed 71 in the final round, bouncing back to finish under par for the tournament.
Cooper Mizelle finished at 3-over across the three rounds, improving as the tournament progressed. After an opening-round 73, Mizelle posted rounds of 75 and 71, closing the event with his best round of the week.
Sean Grzebin Jr. rounded out the lineup at 10-over, carding rounds of 76, 75, and 75. He showed consistency over the final two rounds to help stabilize the Hornets' scorecard.
As a team, Lynchburg opened the tournament under par and remained competitive throughout, ultimately finishing even in the final round to secure a tie for 12th in a deep field.Â
