Lynchburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg men's and women's swim teams both earned victories today against Southern Virginia on the programs' senior day on Saturday in the Liberty University Natatorium.
The Hornets men's squad came away with a 217-29 triumph while the women's crew claimed a 197-61 victory. Lynchburg claimed victories in all but one event tonight, rattling off 27 first-place finishes. At the first break in the meet, the team honored its 11 seniors with a ceremony around the pool:

Seniors
Brynn Dyer (11:52.05) and
Ben Myers (10:40.06) earned the top finishes in the 100 yard freestyle. Freshmen
Sienna Schmeck (2:02.99) and
Connor Marshall (1:49.03) each finished first in the 200 yard freestyle. Sophomore
Abigail Schneider (1:04.80) and graduate
Will Kasemeyer (56.29) were the top finishers in the 100 yard backstroke, while freshman
Kailen Craddock (1:12.81) and sophomore
Ryan Bambrick (1:00.89) claimed first in the 100 yard breaststroke.
Sophomore
Charlotte Grieve (2:25.89) and freshman Marshall (2:01.81) were both top finishers in the 200 yard butterfly. Seniors
Savy Borroughs (24.97) and
Miles West (21.98) earned first-place finishes in the 50 yard freestyle. Schmeck (55.91) and junior
Tyler Caten (49.41) earned first place in the 100 yard freestyle, and freshmen
Lindsay Hanks (2:23.23) and
Adam Fisher (2:02.16) each claimed top spots in the 200 yard backstroke.
Schneider (2:34.25) and senior
Miles Fitzgerald (2:20.44) were the first to finish in the 200 yard breaststroke, while Grieve (5:48.14) and Bambrick (5:02.44) each claimed first place in the 500 yard freestyle. Graduate
Madelyn Foreman (1:02.97) and West (52.83) were the top finishers in the 100 yard butterfly. Schneider (4:55.29) and Marshall (4:15.79) capped off the individual events with first-place finishes in the 400 yard IM.

The Hornets are set to close out the regular season schedule at Bridgewater on Saturday, February 1 at 1 p.m. before heading to Greensboro, N.C. for the ODAC Championships from February 12 through February 15.
