Greensboro, N.C. -- The University of Lynchburg men's and women's swim teams both earned second overall in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships while head coach
Brad Dunn was awarded ODAC Men's and Women's Coach of the Year and
Henry Brooks was selected the ODAC Rookie of the Meet.
Brooks is just the second Lynchburg men's swimmer in program history to be named the ODAC Men's Rookie of the Meet. Dunn claims the first ODAC Men's Coach of the Year award in Lynchburg history, while he earns his second ODAC Women's Coach of the Year award after earning the title in 2021.
Brooks finished the four-day competition with first-place finishes in the 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke, and 100 butterfly events. Both of his backstroke times represented new ODAC records and eclipsed the NCAA B-Cut times. The freshman's impressive 100 backstroke time of 47.81 also surpassed the 2025 national invited time (48.67).
The fourth day of the ODAC Championships opened with the women's 200-yard medley relay, where Lynchburg finished second. The quartet of
Sienna Schmeck,
Gracie Maughan,
Sydney Weeks, and
Sophia Schorr touched in 1:47.27 to start the session with a strong relay showing. In individual action,
Abigail Schneider delivered a championship performance in the women's 400-yard individual medley, winning the event in 4:36.06.
Regan Leach and
Lindsay Hanks followed with fifth and sixth-place finishes.
Lynchburg continued to score in the women's 100-yard butterfly, with
Sydney Weeks placing seventh in the A final.
Charlotte Grieve and
Sophia DaCruz competed in the B final to add depth. In the women's 200-yard freestyle, Schmeck earned a victory with a time of 1:55.15, while Giuli Soria placed eighth.
Lilly Pifer finished 10th overall, and
Sophia Schorr added another scoring swim. The women's 100-yard breaststroke featured another Lynchburg win, as Maughan touched first in 1:04.49.
Eliza Fleenor followed in fourth, with
Kailen Craddock and
Anne Zerkle also reaching the finals. Fleenor later added an eighth-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke.
On the men's side, Lynchburg opened with a third-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay.
Logan Page and
Andrew Fiore paced the Hornets in the 400-yard individual medley with third- and fourth-place finishes.
Henry Brooks capped a standout meet by winning both the 100-yard butterfly and the 100-yard backstroke. Additional points came from
Jackson Holsten in the 200-yard freestyle and
Ryan Bambrick and
Thomas Olson in the 100-yard breaststroke.
In the men's 200-yard individual medley,
Logan Page recorded a third-place finish with a time of 1:53.30, while
