Indianapolis, Ind. -- University of Lynchburg swim student-athletes
Henry Brooks and
Gracie Maughan were selected as participants in the NCAA Division III Championships, announced by the NCAA offices on Friday morning.
In his first collegiate season,
Henry Brooks qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 100-yard backstroke event with a time of 47.81. His time, which was achieved at the ODAC Championships earlier this month, was the seventh-best across DIII this season. The freshman's time set a new record in the ODAC for the 100 backstroke and helped him earn ODAC Rookie of the Meet.
Gracie Maughan earns her first qualification for the NCAA Championships in the 100-yard breaststroke event in just her second season at the collegiate level. She clocked a time of 1:04.12 in the preliminary round of the ODAC Championships, solidifying her best time in the 100 breaststroke while with the Hornets. Her finals time of 1:04.49 allowed her to take home first place in the conference finals.
The NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships are set to be held at IU Natatorium on the campus of IU Indianpolis from March 18 through March 21. For more information on how to reserve your tickets for the championships, visit ncaa.com.
