Forest, Va. -- Following a stellar outing against Southern Virginia this past week, University of Lynchburg men's tennis performers Ricards Spaks and Jorge Patricio Zepeda claimed both Old Dominion Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week awards, announced by the conference office on Monday.

Spaks claimed the ODAC Singles Player of the Week while the pairing of Spaks and Zepeda were awarded the ODAC Doubles Team of the Week. As a team, the Hornets bageled the Knights, 7-0. The Latvia native Spaks competed in the top spot in singles and earned an emphatic 6-3, 6-0 victory over Mason Pitcher. He and Zepeda teamed up in the number one spot in doubles and notched an assertive 6-2 triumph against the duo of Pitcher and Tracen McBride.

Zepeda and Spaks earned the first ODAC player of the week nods for Lynchburg since Levi Vigdorchik won the award in 2023. The Hornets finished their fall slate on a high note and now prepare for the spring season. To view the results from the win this past week against SVU, click here.
