Track & Field Announces Indoor And Outdoor 2025-26 Schedule

Lynchburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg men's and women's track & field teams, and director of track & field and cross country, Mario Wilson, are excited to announce the indoor and outdoor schedules for the 2025-26 season.

The Hornets begin their indoor campaign with the Liberty Kickoff, a two-day event hosted by Liberty University on Thursday, December 4 and Friday, December 5. The indoor squad will return to Liberty on three more occasions for the Brant Tolsma Invitational, the Liberty Open and The Burg Open. Before the end of 2025, Lynchburg will head to Winchester, Va. for the Shenandoah Kickoff on Friday, Dec. 12. To start the new year, Lynchburg holds The Burg Open on Liberty's campus on Friday, January 9. Information for that meet can be found here.

Following The Burg Open, Lynchburg splits the squad from Friday, Jan. 16 through Saturday, Jan. 17 with some heading to the Virginia Tech Invitational in Blacksburg, Va. and others traveling to Salem, Va. for the Finn Pincus Invitational, hosted by Roanoke. After the Liberty Open on Friday, Jan. 23 and Saturday, Jan 24, the team splits again on the last weekend of January. The Hornets will take part in the Steemer Showcase in Springfield, Ohio, the Roanoke Bast-Cregger Invitational in Salem, Va., and the Shane Stevens Invitational in Harrisonburg, Va.

The team then heads to Lexington, Va. for the VMI Winter Relays from Friday, Feb. 6 through Saturday, Feb. 7. On the weekend of Friday, Feb. 13 and Saturday, Feb. 14, members of the team will split up into four events: the BU Valentine Invitational, the Tufts Stampede, the Darius Dixon Invitational, and the Joe LaRocco Invitational. The final competition before the ODAC Championships will be the Rockingham Open in Harrisonburg, Va. on Friday, Feb. 20.

The ODAC Championships will take place at Roanoke's facility in Salem, Va. from Saturday, Feb. 28 through Sunday, March 1. After that, the team will have a last chance to qualify for nationals at the Tufts National Qualifier or the South Regional Final Qualifier, both taking place on Saturday, March, 7. The NCAA Indoor National Championships will be held in Birmingham, Ala. from Friday, March 13 through Saturday, March 14.

The outdoor season kicks off with the Washington and Lee Invitational in Lexington, Va. from Thursday, March 19 through Friday, March 20. Lynchburg hosts four outdoor track events in 2026: the Dr. Jack M. Toms Alumni Invitational, the Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic, the Hill City Twilight, and the Hill City Combined Events. The Hornets stay in Virginia for the majority of their outdoor slate. The track & field team has the Colonial Relays hosted by William & Mary, the Virginia Challenge hosted by the University of Virginia, and the WildCat Invitational hosted by Randolph, all prior to the ODAC Outdoor Championships, which will be held from Friday, April 24 through Saturday, April 25 in Harrisonburg, Va.

Following the ODAC Championships, the squad has the Hill City Twilight, Hill City Combined Events, and the Liberty Twilight before traveling to Chester, Pa. for the Widener Last Chance Qualifier hosted by Widener on Friday, May 11. The NCAA Outdoor National Championships will take place in LaCrosse, Wis. from Thursday, May 21 through Saturday, May 23.
