Forest, Va. -- For the second consecutive week, University of Lynchburg equestrian rider Amaya Bellfield was named an Old Dominion Athletic Conference Rider of the Week, announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.

After receiving the ODAC Fences Rider of the Week award just seven days ago, Bellfield now earns the Flat Rider of the Week honor following an impressive performance to help the No. 1 Hornets defeat Sewanee, 7-3. 

Bellfield secured a season-best score in the flat to earn the MOP in the event. She received an 89 riding Balou to score one of three team points in the flat. She had scored an 83-or-better in the flat in each of her previous three meets, but this performance was her best to date in the event. 

Lynchburg has concluded its fall slate of NCEA competitions and will return to action in the new year to face Sweet Briar on Friday, Feb. 20 in Amherst, Va.
